Background
Clarence is the owner of The Learned Goat bar in the town of Bright Hope. His brother makes liquor.

Lorna Hunt is making Sheriff Hunt breakfast when Clarence comes to their house and tells Hunt that he found Buford torn up and when he went to the sheriff's office, no one was there. Hunt, Chicory and Clarence go to the stable and find Buford gutted.
