Vorena the Elder

Background

Vorena the Elder is the daughter of Niobe and Lucius Vorenus and the sister of Vorena the Younger and Lucius. Vorena was engaged to be married to Crito, however she was forced to break it off when her father was promoted.

When her father returns home Niobe tells him the baby belongs to Vorena the Elder. Vorena is eventually allowed by her father to marry Crito, who he believes got Vorena pregnant.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 3 An Owl in the Thornbrush played by Coral Amiga

Vorena catches Evander Pulchio kissing Niobe. Vorena tells Niobe she should tell Lucius, but Niobe thinks Lucius would kill them.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 4 Stealing from Saturn played by Coral Amiga

During the dinner Lucius holds, Vorena the Elder brings the baby Lucius to the table where Evander Pulchio plays with him.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 5 The Ram has Touched the Wall played by Coral Amiga

Vorena walks to her house and finds Titus Pullo passed out on the stairs. Lucius tells her he plans on selling his Gaulish slaves so that he can give her her dowry and she can marry Crito and move in with him and his family. Vorena the Elder is excited, however Niobe thinks it is too soon. When Lucius comes back with the only surviving slave, Vorena the Elder decides to name him Rubio after her pigeon that died.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 6 Egeria played by Coral Amiga

Vorena becomes upset when Clarissa tells her that she can no longer marry Crito due to Lucius' promotion and her families newly elevated status. When Niobe chastises Vorena on decency, Vorena questions Niobe on what she knows about decency.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 9 Utica played by Coral Amiga

Vorena the Elder greets Lucius when he returns home from Egypt. She is sent away to the country with Vorena the Younger and Lucius with Lyde, after Erastes Fulmen threatens to kill her family.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 10 Triumph played by Coral Amiga

Vorena the Elder watches the spectacle of the Triumph.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 12 Kalends of February played by Coral Amiga

A Flamen Priest leads a procession including Vorena the Elder, Lucius, Niobe, Vorena the Younger, Lucius the child, Eirene and Rubio to the family farm, where they make an offering for luck. They arrive home and Clarissa tells them Titus escaped from the hospital and was found and brought to their home and Vorena tells Niobe that things never change. Lucius tells Vorena the Elder that he and Niobe have been planning on finding her a rich old man that she can eventually fall in love with.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 1 Passover played by Coral Amiga

Vorena the Elder, Lyde, and Vorena the Younger return home to find Lucius shaking the child Lucius and demanding to know who his father is. Lucius then curses his entire family and leaves. Lyde cleans Niobe's body and tells Vorena the Elder, Lucius will return at some point. Erastes Fulmen and a few of his men show up at Lucius' home and kidnaps everyone still there


During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 2 Son of Hades played by Coral Amiga

Vorena the Elder, Lucius, Vorena the Younger and Lyde are brought south of Rome in a slave wagon.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 3 These Being the Words of Marcus Tullius Cicero played by Coral Amiga

Lyde manages to break out of the wooden cell she is being held in with Vorena the Elder, Vorena the Younger and Lucius, but a Guard returns before any of the children can leave.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 4 Testudo et Lepus (The Tortoise and the Hare) played by Coral Amiga

Lucius and Titus Pullo free Lucius' family from the slave camp including Vorena the Elder who was being used as a prostitute.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 5 Heroes of the Republic played by Coral Amiga

Vorena the Elder, Lucius, Titus, Vorena the Younger and the child Lucius journey back home to Rome. She and the other children are blessed by a Priest of Janus. Vorena the Younger steals some coins from the Collegium and brings them to Vorena the Elder who hides them as Lucius enters the room. The children run away to Lyde who tells Vorena the Elder to go back to Lucius and fake if she needs to that she loves him. They eat dinner together as a family with Titus and Eirene and Lucius makes a toast to family.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 6 Philippi played by Coral Amiga

Lucius finds Gaia putting makeup on Vorena the Elder and he tells Vorena to take it off. Omnipor walks up to Vorena the Elder and stares at her after asking a question. She later receives twine dolls representing a couple from Omnipor.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 7 Death Mask played by Coral Amiga

As Memmio and Omnipor are leaving their meeting with Lucius Vorenus and Mascius, Omnipor leaves a twine doll for Vorena the Elder. Vorena the Elder sneaks out of the house to meet with Omnipor and they are caught by Memmio. Memmio then convinces Vorena the Elder to tell him information in order to keep her and Omnipor's relationship a secret. Lucius catches Vorena the Elder in his office and she tells him Vorena the Younger needs a new dress.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 8 A Necessary Fiction played by Coral Amiga

Vorena the Elder sweeps outside of the meeting room where Lucius tells Titus Pullo and Mascius his plan to transport a gold shipment. Lucius storms into the children's room and finds Vorena the Elder's chest with all of the dolls Omnipor gave her. Lucius accuses Vorena the Elder of betraying him and she tells him she loves Omnipor and she hates him. Lucius grabs Vorena the Elder and starts to strangle her but walks away after Titus points out that the other children are watching.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 9 Deus Impeditio Esuritori Nullus (No God Can Stop a Hungry Man) played by Coral Amiga

Mascius, Vorena the Elder, who is now a priestess of the Temple of the Blessed Orbona, Vorena the Younger and the boy Lucius walk up to Titus and he sends them away after telling them he needs to speak with Mascius. Titus tells Lyde, Vorena the Elder, Vorena the Younger and the boy Lucius that he is leaving for Egypt and the children refuse to return a kiss to Lucius.

During the events of Rome: Season 2 Episode 10 De Patre Vostro (About Your Father) played by Coral Amiga

Titus bring Lucius to the Collegium and tells Vorena the Elder, Vorena the Younger, the boy Lucius and Lyde that Lucius is dying. She sees her father holding a picture of her mother and she goes to him and forgives him.
