Detailed Synopsis
Simon Sayes is filming a scene of consisting of Vinnie trying to land a helicopter on a semi trailer. Vinnie crashes and tells Simon the stunt can't be done. Simon tells Phillip Maurice that the stunt can't be done, but Phillip insists and tells Simon to hire Dominic to do the stunt. Dominic tries to convince Stringfellow Hawke to work with him on Simon's film, but Hawke thinks Dominic may be too old to do the stunt, which angers Dominic. Dominic meets with Simon and Phillip and Dominic tells them he has no interest in doing a test run and promises to pay the cost of the film if he can't perform the stunt. Phillip tells Simon to contact Hawke in case Dominic can't accomplish the stunt. Edward Stoner gets into a car with Phillip. Phillip hands Edward an envelope of money and threatens Edward to make sure he is on duty when the schedule of the gold shipment is released. Phillip and Simon have a meeting with Hawke and try to convince to perform the stunt, but he refuses. Hawke visits Dominic and tells him he wants to help Dominic with the stunt, but Dominic becomes angry when Hawke offers to do the stunt and tells Hawke to leave. Hawke contacts Michael Coldsmith Briggs III, code name Archangel and tries to get Archangel to help him. When Hawke tells Archangel, Phillip Maurice is running the production company, Archangel tells him Phillip is responsible for numerous crimes, but always manages to avoid being directly connected to the crimes. Archangel then tries to convince Hawke to fly the stunt.
Hawke tells Simon he will do the stunt and Simon tells him he will be doing the stunt in Northern California, but avoids giving Hawke full details. Simon then calls Dominic who flies to Hawke's cabin and confronts Hawke. Hawke tells him what Archangel told him, but Dominic doesn't believe him. Hawke grabs Dominic's arm and Dominic punches him and then leaves when Hawke won't fight him back. Hawke shows Archangel the script with a description of the stunt and Archangel tells him he thinks there is a mole in the FIRM who has warned Phillip in the past. Edward walks over to Phillip who is in a parked car and hands him an envelope with the final schedule. Simon meets with Meryl at The Abbey Tavern and brags to her about all the movies and actors he has directed. Meryl then asks him to tell her more details about the film he is making. Meryl meets with Hawke and Archangel and provides them with the information she learned from Simon, and Hawke thinks they are going to try and rob a train carrying gold out of Bakersfield, California. Hawke visits Dominic and asks him to fly Airwolf in support of his mission.
On the morning of the shoot, Hawke tells Simon to have the actors flying with him unload their weapons. Hawke spots a train and when he asks where the cameras are, Phillip, who is also on the helicopter, pulls a gun on him and orders him to land on a semi trailer being driven by Truck Driver. Edward contacts Truck Driver to make sure he is on schedule and then tells him to maintain a speed of 60 miles per hour. Hawke lands on the trailer and Simon pulls a gun on the Truck Driver. Meryl tells Archangel that Edward works for Hi-Desert Trucking who ships gold for the government. Vinnie tells Phillip that they are ready and before Phillip can shoot him, Hawke jumps out of the helicopter. Dominic spots Hawke who waves him down. Phillip's crew uses a torch to open the top of the trailer and after grabbing ten bars of gold Vinnie flies off. Simon sees them leaving him behind and when he calls out to them, the assistant truck driver knocks him off the semi. Marella arrests Edward. Hawke starts to toy with Vinnie and Phillip and Vinnie lands the helicopter. As Vinnie is trying to run away Hawke shoots at him with the chain gun and then he blows up Phillip and Vinnie's helicopter and contacts Archangel. Hawke and Dominic then saw a large log together back at Hawke's cabin.
