Detailed Synopsis

Frank is telling the others about an axe murderer and her bloody weapon, while David tells of a mummy wrapped in dirty bandages. Betty Ann talks about someone with a razor-sharp hook where her hand should be and Kiki describes a zombie with sunken eyes and a stiff body. Gary figures out Kristen must be next to tell a tale and Frank tells him that they are trying to figure out what how she is going to dress up to scare them. Kristen shows up dressed like a hippie and she tells Betty Ann she found the clothes in the attic and her parents might have been hippies. Kristen starts handing out hippie trinkets to the others and then mentions an old saying that if you don't learn from the past, you are doomed to repeat it. She says in her tale, if you don't learn from the present, you'll repeat the past and meet your doom. She then starts her tale.

Mr. Shaffner shows the new student Julie Dufaux, her locker, locker 22 and then gets upset when Julie says her locker is far from everything. During Chemistry class, the Chemistry Teacher teaches the students how to transfer liquids from pipettes. Julie chokes on the liquid and drops her beaker and it shatters on the ground. Class ends and Fritz and Donny start harassing Julie. Chris tells them to beat it and then helps Julie clean up the broken glass. They introduce themselves and Chris offers to show her where her next class is. As Julie is about to leave, she sees Candy staring at her. Julie tells Candy that she thought all the students had left, but Candy doesn't answer her and when Julie looks away and then looks back, Candy is gone. During lunch, Fritz and Donny sit down next to Julie and call Julie weird and Donny tries to spit his drink on Julie, but she ducks out of the way and instead it gets on Fritz's face. Fritz and Donny start throwing food at each other and some lands on Shaffner's face. When Julie goes to her locker, Candy appears again and when Julie tries to talk to her, Candy just stares at her and then disappears. As Julie is walking home from school, Chris catches up with her and she tells him that she thinks she saw a ghost. Later that evening, Julie gets a call from Fritz making fun of her for thinking she saw a ghost.

The next day at school Julie confronts Chris for telling people what she told him. When Julie goes to her locker, Donny throws a ball at her locker and a necklace falls out of her locker. Fritz walks up wearing a sheet and acting like a ghost and Julie gets upset and runs away. She looks at the necklace that fell out of her locker and Candy appears again. Candy starts playing with her necklaces and when Julie puts the necklace on, she is transported back to Dirby High School in the 1960s. Julie runs to her where her locker is and finds the name Candy on a paper flower on the locker. A younger version of Shaffner calls Julie Mrs. Warren and tells Julie he is waiting. Julie takes off the necklace and returns to the current time. After school, Julie finds Chris and Chris tells her that there has been a rumor that a ghost has been haunting the high school for years. She brings Chris down to where her locker is and shows him where Candy's name used to be on her locker and then shows him the necklace. Chris tells her that she is beginning to get spooky, and Julie puts on the necklace while holding onto Chris, transporting them both in the past. Candy's Friend calls Julie Candy and asks who Chris is and then invites them to listen to her new Beatles album.

Shaffner walks up to Julie and Chris and asks who Chris is and then tells Julie if she doesn't finish her Chemistry project, she will fail. Julie removes the necklace and she and Chris return to their time. They search the student files and find a Candy Warren listed who used locker 22. They find her in the yearbook with a note Friends Forever and the date 1951-1968. Julie and Chris agree to talk later that night and as Chris is leaving the school he sees Mr. Adam and asks him about Candy. Mr. Adam starts to tell Chris about Candy's tragic accident which happened at the high school. Julie while at her locker, puts on the necklace again and is transported back in time. Shaffner sees Julie and tells her she needs to come with him and finish her project now. Adam tells Chris that while Candy was doing a project for Shaffner she was careless and caused an explosion which killed her. In the classroom Shaffner connects a hose which appears to have a hole in it. Chris runs around trying to find Julie. Shaffner tells Julie what she needs to do to pass and then leaves the room. Candy appears to Chris and tells him Julie is in the past and then sends back Chris to help her. As Chris is running to the classroom, he is grabbed by Shaffner but pushes him away. Julie is about to light the chemicals when Chris manages to put out the flame. Chris then shows Shaffner the rotted hoses Shaffner was using. Julie and Chris re-appear in their own timeline and Candy, who after the changes they made, is now the Assistant Principle instead of Shaffner asks them what they are doing at school so late.

Kristen ends her tale, and everyone responds with stereotypical hippie catch phrases.
