Detailed Synopsis

Gary tells the rest of the Midnight Society that tonight is a special night as it is a year since David invited Frank to join the Midnight Society. As per their tradition, Frank is asked if he has a new tale to tell. Frank says he has the perfect story for tonight and Betty Ann mentions that it is a full moon. Frank says eerie things happen when the moon is full, people act different, a little strange. He continues that there is always one special thing when a full moon rises and tells them that is what his story is about. He then starts his tale.

Franks says that Jed and Hughie were pet detectives who had just been hired by Ms. Neville to find her cat Misty. Hughie asks Jed why he is charging Ms. Neville $20 to find Misty when they normally charge $5 and Jed tells him that it costs $20 for a puppy at the pet store. Hughie reminds Jed that Ellen won't let him have a dog, but Jed thinks he will be able to convince her. Jed and Hughie start looking for Misty and Jed finds Misty's collar tag in the street next to his house and uses a handheld radio to let Hughie know. Jed knocks on the door of the nearby house, but nobody answers. He starts walking around the property and finds a pile of collars in the backyard. Jed peeks through the sliding door and sees Werewolf walk downstairs and pull meat out of the fridge, which he starts to prepare. The phone rings and Werewolf runs back upstairs and Jed sneaks into the house and opens the refrigerator and finds it full of containers of meat. Hughie calls Jed on the radio and Jed runs out of the house. Jed goes home and tells Ellen what he saw, but she doesn't believe him and thinks he is just trying to convince her to let him get a dog.

That night, Jed sets up a video camera and points it towards Werewolf's house. He watches as Werewolf changes into a werewolf and calls Ellen into his room and tells her that Werewolf changed into a wolf. Jed tries to show Ellen the recording he made, but it doesn't work, and Ellen tells him to stop spying on Werewolf and to go to bed. The next day Jed and Hughie look up werewolves in a book entitled Shapeshifters in History. That evening, Ellen tells Jed that she invited someone she met at bowling over for dinner. Someone rings the doorbell and when Jed opens the door, Boyfriend, who looks just like Werewolf, is standing outside with roses. During dinner, Jed stabs Boyfriend with a silver fork and pulls back the curtains to force Boyfriend to change into a werewolf. Ellen tells Jed to go to his room and after dinner, Ellen and Boyfriend leave to get some coffee. Jed calls Hughie and tells him that he was wrong and Boyfriend isn't a werewolf. Jed tells Hughie to meet him so they can break into Boyfriend's house to investigate more. They break into Boyfriend's house but find the fridge empty.

They continue to search the house, and Hughie finds a photo with Boyfriend and a man who looks like his twin. Werewolf appears behind Hughie and Jed and growls and Jed takes a photo of it with his Polaroid camera. Jed and Hughie barricade themselves in a room and then realize they are in Werewolf's bedroom. Werewolf shoves the door open, and Jed starts blowing his dog whistle. Werewolf starts to howl in pain and a few seconds later, Boyfriend walks into the room and tells Jed, Werewolf is his brother Gordon while Hughie runs home. Boyfriend tells Jed that everyone tells him that he should put Werewolf out of his misery, but he is family. Ellen walks into the room and tells Jed she knows about Werewolf and is trying to be understanding and hopes Jed will be too.

Frank tells the others that not long after, Ellen and Boyfriend get married. He says that Ellen was happy, Boyfriend was happy and Jed, finally got his dog. Frank ends his tale, and Gary tells Frank that they are going to have an anniversary surprise. Kristen says the fire is nice and hot and David says it is a special occasion just for Frank. Gary says they are going to have roast Frank and Kiki shows Frank the hotdogs they are going to be cooking. Kristen tells Frank happy anniversary and Betty Ann says let's cook.
