Detailed Synopsis

Merlin dreams of the day he watched Excalibur drown and took the sword. As King Arthur and Kay are riding in the woods with an entourage, Kay asks how long Merlin has been gone and wonders if he has a plan. Colfur and Wade are fighting when Katelyn runs up to Arthur and Kay and asks for help. She gets on the back of Arthur's horse and they ride towards her village. Colfur takes a large rock and hits Wade in the head with it over and over again. Ewan and his men grab Colfur and start to hang him when Arthur rides up and orders them to stop. They stop the execution and Ewan tells Arthur that Colfur murdered Wade. He says that Wade was the headman of the village, but now he is. Arthur tells him to gather some men and to ride to Camelot where there will be a hearing to determine what happens to Colfur. At Morgan's castle, Morgan's appearance keeps changing from Queen Igraine to herself. Sybil walks to her and tells her that she needs allies and friends from the influential people of Britain. She continues that Morgan must tell people that she will take away their fears and then she will have their loyalty. As Guinevere is washing herself, a goat bleats at her. She leads it outside with Bridget and they notice how more and more people are coming to Camelot, but it is disorganized. She returns the goat to the Cook and tells him it is the second time the goat has gotten loose.

Igraine finds Merlin in a lower level of the castle, but he tells her to leave him alone. Arthur tells Kay to meet him in the hall with Gawain, Ulfius, Brastias, and Leontes. Guinevere walks up to Arthur and asks him if she can organize things within Camelot and he agrees. Morgan has a meeting with influential members of Britain and tells them that any fears they have can be shared with her. Merchant 2 tells Ernald that they should speak the truth, but Ernald doesn't think it's a good idea. Ernald stands up and tells her that they all rejoice in Arthur's rule. The tribunal starts and Ewan is the first to speak and says that Wade was a good man, while Colfur is a trouble maker. Arthur asks Ewan why the fight started and Colfur tells him that he hit Wade first. Ewan says that Colfur rented the land and owed tithes. Sybil goes to a bar and sits down next to Tomal. She asks him if he is a mercenary and then offers him money for him to beat her. Igraine brings Merlin food and tells him of the tribunal. Colfur refuses to answer why he attacked Wade and Arthur calls for a break in the tribunal. Gawain and Leontes believe Colfur is guilty, but Kay thinks there is something else going on. Vivian carries Sybil into Morgan's castle and as Morgan is carrying her to her bed, Ernald tells Merchant 2 that if a nun is beaten, none of them are safe. Sybil reveals to Morgan that her beating was all part of her plan and to use it to her advantage.

Guinevere walks with Katelyn and tells her that the village rules are that the headman gets to have sex with every village girl when she becomes a woman and Wade was coming to have sex with her. Arthur goes to see Merlin and Merlin tells him that they are behind schedule. Morgan goes back into the hall and Merchant 2 and Ernald admit that even though they fly Arthur's pendant they are still attacked. She tells them that she will send a messenger to Arthur so that he can come and hear their stories. After the meeting, Vivian asks Morgan if she should send for a messenger, and Morgan tells her not too. Colfur tells Arthur and Guinevere that Wade's father raped his wife and Katelyn is the product of the rape. Katelyn walks up and tells Colfur that she knows that he isn't her father, but she still loves him. The tribunal begins again and Colfur tells the whole story and he is banished from Exham. Merlin admits to Igraine what happened to Excalibur. Merlin and Igraine talk and she tells him that she dreamed of a husband that would treat her like an equal, but has yet to find one. Igraine tries to kiss Merlin, but he pushes her away. Before Morgan's dinner with the influential, Tomal sees Sybil and realizes she works with Morgan. As Gawain is helping Colfur and Katelyn move, Ewan and a group of men confront them. Sybil tells Morgan about Tomal being at the dinner. Ewan attacks Gawain and a fight starts. Morgan tells those gathered that Arthur said he was too busy to attend to their concerns. Arthur, Kay and Leontes arrive to help Gawain. Morgan tells Tomal to come to her and asks Sybil if he is the one that hurt her and before Tomal can say anything, Morgan slits his throat. Arthur defeats Ewan's men and declares to the villagers that they are now under Camelot's protection.
