Cesare Dupree is a wealthy man living in New Orleans. He has a reputation for cruelty.

During the events of Quadroon (1971) played by George Lupo

Dupree takes his slave Jacques to fight against another man's slave. Jacques loses and afterwards Caleb Wycliffe offers to purchase Jacques. Dupree tells him his money is boring and instead offers to have a card game, with the winner either getting Jacques or all of Caleb's money. Dupree wins and then takes all of Caleb's money. He then sells Jacques. Dupree goes to the Quadroon Ball and negotiates with Celeste Labusse for Coral Labusse. As he is forcing himself onto Coral, Caleb confronts him. Dupree then challenges Caleb to a duel. Dupree loses and storms off when Caleb refuses to shoot at him. He tells the police that Celeste and Coral were never freed slaves and taunts Caleb when he goes to get Coral. At the slave auction, Dupree buys Coral and takes her home. He tries to make her willingly kiss him, but when she refuses, he has John Henri and Thomas put her into the spring house. Celeste comes to him and tells him she wants to tell Coral bye and if he lets her then she will change Coral's attitude to him. He lets her and is later told by Thomas that Coral has escaped. Dupree goes into the spring house and has his slaves gang rape and murder Celeste. He tracks Coral down and finds her with Caleb, Jacques and Antoine. Antoine challenges him to a duel, but Dupree forces Caleb to fight him. Dupree then shoots and kills Caleb. Afterwards he leaves with Coral.
