Lt. H.T.D. Le Vesconte
Background
Henry Thomas Dundas Le Vesconte is a second lieutenant on the HMS Erebus in the Discovery Service for the British Royal Navy.
During the events of The Terror: Season 1 Episode 1 Go for Broke played by Declan Hannigan
John Franklin calls a meeting of the officers, including Lt. Le Vesconte, and John Gregory tells them about the damage to the Erebus and Francis Crozier warns Franklin that they will be dealing with pack ice ahead. He asks Lt. Graham Gore how many sun dogs he has seen and suggests they explore King William Land to see if it is an island and Thomas Blanky agrees. Franklin decides against his advice and James Fitzjames considers Crozier's warning, melodrama. Crozier then angrily points out that only four people at the table are veterans of the arctic, but Franklin again decides to continue on. Franklin gives a speech to the crew about how they will soon accomplish their journey. Six days later, both ships are stuck in the ice and the next morning they wake up to be surrounded by continuous ice.
During the events of The Terror: Season 1 Episode 5 First Shot a Winner, Lads played by Declan Hannigan
Le Vesconte and Charles Des Voeux are doing calculations on cannon bombardments and wind temperature. They return to the ship and Edmund Hoar tells Fitzjames that Lt. Edward Little is there to see him. Dr. Stanley is removing the frost bit toe of Le Vesconte when Henry Goodsir tells him, Lady Silence is leaving and asks if he can go with her. Charles Des Voeux makes fun of Goodsir writing a dictionary. Samuel Crispe tells Goodsir they are ready to leave.
During the events of The Terror: Season 1 Episode 6 A Mercy played by Declan Hannigan
January, 1848, Lt. John Irving gives a briefing to Fitzjames, Lt. George Hodgson, Dr. MacDonald, Dr. Stanley, Blanky and Le Vesconte on the status of the ships' supplies. He then mentions that Dr. MacDonald thinks any of the anti-scurvy properties the lemons may have had have worn out due to age. He ends by telling Fitzjames if they reduce their rations by 3/4 then they will run out by midwinter next year. Fitzjames tells Irving to have John Diggle and Richard Wall focus on serving salted meats to save the portable food stuffs. Fitzjames releases everyone else, except for Blanky.
Little orders all the men to attention and Le Vesconte tells the crew that Fitzjames has proposed holding a carnival. Carnival starts and Crozier and Thomas Jopson arrive later and find the crew drunk. Crozier holds a speech and tells the crew that they need to return to their homes. Crozier tells them that they will be walking to safety. He continues that they should find help from the Netsilik people on their way and should eventually meet up with Lt. Fairholme and his group. Lady Silence stumbles into the crowd and shortly after, Dr. Stanley starts himself and the carnival camp on fire. The fire spreads through carnival and some of the crew are burned to death. Cornelius Hickey uses a knife to cut open the canvas and kills Dr. MacDonald in the process. The remaining crew stumble out of the area and the dead are lined up.
During the events of The Terror: Season 1 Episode 9 The C, the C, the Open C played by Declan Hannigan
The next day after the Tuunbaq attack on the camp, Crozier's group make camp and Jopson tells Crozier that they are out of salted meat. Little offers the suggestion to leave the sick behind, which Le Vesconte agrees with, but Crozier refuses to leave the sick behind and tells Little that he would do the same for him.
During the events of The Terror: Season 1 Episode 10 We Are Gone played by Declan Hannigan
Little tells a group of assembled men which includes, Charles Best, Le Vesconte, Samuel Crispe, and others that they must attack Hickey's camp and recover Crozier. Crispe reminds Little that Crozier ordered him and the others to continue on. Little says Private Hammond thinks finding the other camp will be easy, but Best thinks they should follow Crozier's order. Little points out that they have no surgeons and no one that speaks Netsilik and their best chance is to recover Crozier and Goodsir from Hickey's camp. Le Vesconte tells Little there has already been a vote and the others are leaving.
