Background

Max is a plainclothes officer working for the French police in Paris, France.

During the events of Kiss of the Dragon (2001) played by John Forgeham

Aja and Jessica arrive at the hotel and are met by Max, who angrily tells them never to make him wait again. He then introduces them to Mister Big, who takes them up to his room. When Jessica is at Richard's office, Max injects her with heroin and then drops her off to Lupo to be put back on the streets prostituting. Red Hair Hooker calls him and tells him Liu Jian is fighting Lupo and Lupo's Assistant and Max heads to Uncle Tai's restaurant with a trunk full of weapons. He shoots and kills Uncle Tai, but is killed by Liu Jian who stabs a pair of chop sticks into Max's throat.
