Background

Otho is an interior designer. He was schooled in chemistry and for a short time was a hair analyst. He worked with The Living Theatre. Otho was one of New York's leading Paranormal Researchers until the bottom fell out in 1972.


During the events of Beetlejuice (1988) played by Glenn Shadix

When Delia and her family move into their new home in Winter River, Connecticut, Otho comes along. Otho helps Delia redecorate the place to a more radical aesthetic. During their first dinner party Otho is possessed along with the others by Barbara and Adam. Otho comes up with the idea to use Adam and Barbara as an amusement event for guests and suggests to Charles he call Maxie Dean as his wife Sarah Dean is into the paranormal. While looking in the attack for Barbara and Adam, Otho steals their Handbook of the Recently Deceased. During the dinner party with the Dean family, Otho uses the handbook to call Adam and Barbara to the dinner table. As Barbara and Adam starts to wither and fade, Lydia in desperation calls forth Betelgeuse. Otho tries to run away, however Betelgeuse puts the spotlight on him and gives him a style change, before Otho can run off.
