On Sunday after church, Money Mike tries to call Robert Jr. to tell him he is going to be late, but his battery dies. Robert Jr. and Hilary get to the Johnson home and Hilary shows Mother their newborn baby, Alexandria. Robert Jr. tries to get advice from Dad, but Dad tells him the damage has already been done. Sam brings in some fish that he cooked and asks Mother to try it. After she takes a bite, Robert Jr. takes a bite and brings up how Sam's restaurant failed. Sam and Robert Jr. start to argue and Dad stops them from fighting.
Hilary tells Robert Jr. she needs to talk to him and he tells her to never disrespect him in his parent's house. He continues to berate Hilary and then walks away. Later, Hilary goes and sits next to Robert Jr. and asks him what he is looking at and he starts yelling at her and tells her that she is nosy. Lil Sam yells that dinner is ready and at dinner, Dad starts off by giving thanks followed by the rest of the family. Alex announces that she and Sam are going to open another restaurant. Robert Jr. gets up to get some wine and when Hilary follows him, he tells her that he doesn't need her there. He goes back to the table and raises a toast to Sam and Alex and says may their new restaurant not be like their old one and that it be a success. A fight breaks out in the kitchen between Robert and Sam. Hilary tells Robert Jr. that she wants a divorce. Dad says to Robert Jr. that he needs to see Pastor Simmons and Dr. Daniels in order to sort out his problems. Robert apologizes to Sam and they shake hands. Robert Jr. asks Hilary if she is still going to leave him and she brings up all the times he cheated on her and said he was going to change. He tells her that he pays for everything and she will have nothing if she leaves. Dad tells Robert Jr. to use his anger to build something and then Robert Jr. leaves. Six months later, Mother says Robert is seeing a psychologist.
During the events of Johnson Family Christmas Dinner (2008) played by Kevin Shannon
Robert Jr. comes in through the backdoor and tells Ms. Johnson he needs money to pay for the cab. Chrissy asks Robert Jr. if Santa is black and he tells her yes and that his wish is for his family to come home. As Sam is telling the family about opening up another restaurant, Robert Jr. walks in and then complains that Sam has all the luck while others like him don't have any. Sam has a conversation with Robert Jr. and tries to offer him advice, but Robert Jr. tells him he doesn't want his advice. Stephen and his family are about to start Christmas dinner when he suggests they stop to pray as it is tradition. Theresa tells everyone, Sam has something to tell everyone. Robert Jr. makes a sarcastic comment about being excited to hear the news. Candy tells everyone her and The eagle are moving in together. Theresa and Sam tell Candy she can't move in with The eagle and Ms. Johnson agrees with them as does Michelle. Everyone starts to argue and Stephen angrily tells them to stop their bickering and asks Ms. Johnson to lead them in prayer. Ms. Johnson leads the prayer and makes a prayer to celebrate Jesus. James asks for forgiveness, Candy asks that her family understand her relationship with The eagle, Robert Jr. prays for a life similar to Sam and Alex's. Michelle asks for the perfect person, Theresa asks for the children to be given sense, while Sam gives thanks for his success. Stephen closes out the prayer by asking God to show his family Christmas is about God's love and not earthly issues. They eat dinner and the family starts to argue again. Stephen tells everyone to go to bed. The next morning, Sam and Robert Jr. talk and Robert Jr. apologizes to him and tells him he is proud of him and Sam apologizes to Robert Jr. Sam then invites Robert Jr. to be his accountant and Robert Jr. accepts. Robert Jr. then calls Hilary.
