Detailed Synopsis

Servilia of the Junii holds the death mask of Marcus Junius Brutus and apologizes to his spirit. Eleni asks her if she would like to sleep, but Servilia tells her no more sleep. Jocasta cries as she gets ready for her wedding to Posca. Atia of the Julii tells Jocasta to stop crying and tells her she went to a lot of trouble arranging it. Posca and Jocasta then get married by an Augur. During the wedding Atia brings up marriage with Mark Antony. The wedding is interrupted by Servilia demanding justice in front of Atia's home while Eleni pours the ashes of Brutus over Servilia's head. Atia and Merula go to investigate and Atia tells Merula not to do anything as Servilia will eventually go away. Titus Pullo wants to make love with Eirene, but she tells him it isn't good for the baby. Lucius Vorenus and Mascius have a meeting with Memmio and attended by Omnipor. As Memmio and Omnipor are leaving the meeting, Omnipor leaves a twine doll for Vorena the Elder.

As it rains, Servilia continues to call for justice outside of Atia's home. Mark Antony, Gaius Octavian and Lepidus hold a meeting where Lepidus tells them that some are worried that the three of them are about to form a tyrannical government. They then decide to split the ruling of Rome intro three different regions of Rome. Mark Antony suggests Octavian take Rome and the west, while he takes Egypt and the eastern provinces, leaving Lepidus with Africa minus Egypt. They all then agree to split the treasury among themselves. Atia complains to Mark Antony about Servilia's continued calling, and he suggests she go to see what she wants. Titus discovers an Old Man using a counterfeit token to get free food. Eirene threatens Gaia when Gaia refuses to listen to her. Titus show Lucius the fake token and accuses Memmio of making them, but Lucius decides not to do anything as feeding the hungry is good no matter where they are from. Eirene barges in and tells Titus he must beat Gaia and storms out. Titus finds Gaia and threatens to whip her. They then have rough sex and afterwards Titus tells Gaia they can't do it again. Atia gets fed up and confronts Servilia, and after cursing Atia, Servilia stabs herself. Eleni then stabs herself with the knife and falls over dead.

Newsreader tells the citizens that Herod will be visiting Rome and that mockery of the Jews and their one god should be kept to an acceptable level. Herod has a meeting with Mark Antony and offers a bribe as a gift. Mark Antony accepts the gift to support Herod as he fights against his enemies. After the meeting, Posca asks what share he will get of Herod's gift and Mark Antony accuses him of being greedy. Timon and Levi see Herod walking with his escort and Levi devises a plan to kill Herod. Posca approaches Gaius Maecenas and offers to trade information for money. Mark Antony argues with a Bestiary that he wants lions. Mark Antony and Octavian then have a meeting where Octavian accuses Mark Antony of not sharing his gift. Mark Antony accuses Octavian of not having accomplished anything and borrowing the glory of others. Gaia brings food to Eirene and walks with a limp and Eirene tells Titus he should beat Gaia the same way every month. Vorena the Elder sneaks out of the house to meet with Omnipor and they are caught by Memmio. Memmio then convinces Vorena the Elder to tell him information in order to keep her and Omnipor's relationship a secret.

During a meeting between Octavian and Mark Antony they agree to split everything equally and then Octavian suggests a marriage should happen between the two houses after Atia suggests it. Meanwhile, Octavia of the Julii and Agrippa continue their secret affair. As the Cantor chants in the temple, Levi and Timon plan how to murder Herod during Mark Antony's upcoming wedding. Lucius catches Vorena the Elder in his office and she tells him Vorena the Younger needs a new dress. Mark Antony tells Atia that he will be marrying Octavia and not her and later he and Octavia get married by the Pontifex Maximus. Gaius Maecenas approaches Agrippa and tells him he feels sorry for Atia, who he thought was only with Mark Antony for practical reasons and not that she loved him. At the last minute Timon refuses to kill Herod after he sees Atia and is reminded of all of the horrible things he has done. He then struggles with Levi who is holding a knife and Levi is accidentally stabbed. Levi then tells Timon he is not his brother before dying in Timon's arms. The night after the wedding, Atia remembers the curse Servilia declared against her. Gaia goes to get ingredients to cause an abortion from a Pharmacopolist.
