Straker and two other men shoot at [[Kathy Hunter]] and they eventually catch her. [[John Peter McAllister]] and [[Max Keller]] fight Straker and his men and rescue Kathy. At a bar, Straker tells [[Patrick T. Keller]] that he will have to set up Kathy to get kidnapped again. Patrick tells him that he won't do it, but Straker brings up all the people Patrick represented who went to jail, because he was too drunk during court and the fake bonds he signed. Max and [[Laura Crane]] walk into the bar and as Straker and his men are leaving, Max runs into them and a fight breaks out. John helps Max beat up Straker and his men. Later, Patrick and Kathy are brought to Straker. Straker calls [[Gordon Hunter]] and tells him that he is calling from a payphone so it won't matter if [[Lt. Ryan]] traces it. He then demands 1 million dollars in ransom. Straker breaks into Laura's apartment and finds out that she is blind. John and Max go to the church and beat up Straker's men and find Kathy and Patrick and escape. [[Paul Stillman]] yells at Straker and his men for letting Kathy get away.
