When Danny St. Clair follows the trail of green blood to the cave of the Creature she meets Joseph. Joseph introduces himself and explains the origin of the creature. He gives Danny a satchel full of information and tells her he will meet her at her tower later. Joseph is killed by the Creature who displays his corpse like a scarecrow in the middle of the road.
