Laurence is part of a storm chaser team run by Jo. He goes to Muskogee State College in Oklahoma.
During the events of Twister (1996) played by Jeremy Davies
Laurence is adjusting the video recorder when Bill arrives with Melissa. He then goes with the rest of Jo's team as they chase tornadoes. After stopping at the Galaxy Drive-In, a tornado rips through the area and initially, Laurence hides in the truck before being pulled out by Jo. He then celebrates with the rest of the team when Jo and Bill successfully deploy Dorothy.
