Ryan is a police lieutenant in Marina del Rey, California.
During the events of The Master: Season 1 Episode 11 Failure to Communicate played by Edd Byrnes
After Kathy Hunter is kidnapped, an officer tells Ryan that the kidnappers disappeared. Ryan questions Laura Crane and he decides to take her downtown to get a sworn statement from her. Straker calls Gordon Hunter and tells him that he is calling from a payphone so it won't matter if Ryan traces it. He then demands 1 million dollars in ransom. After Kathy and Patrick T. Keller are rescued, Straker calls Gordon and demands the same ransom for Laura. After Laura is rescued, Patrick admits to Ryan his involvement in the kidnapping. Max Keller tells Patrick that the fake bonds that supposedly had Patrick's signature were forged.
