Charles Silverdale

Background

Charles Silverdale is a member of the Comstock Historical Trust living in Virginia City, Nevada. He is a respected historian and member of the 601 secret society. The county of Silverdale is named after his grandfather.

During the events of Godmonster of Indian Flats (1973) played by Stuart Lancaster

Charles complains to Phillip Maldove about tourists and later rejects Barnstable's offer to buy his land. He comes up with the idea for Sheriff Gordon's dog Lance to play dead in order to blame Barnstable for the death of the dog so none of the locals will sell him their mineral rights. After Lance's funeral, Charles admits to Madame Alta that he set up Barnstable. When Barnstable refuses to leave town, Silverdale has Phillip Maldove set him up for attempted murder and sends a group of men to lynch Barnstable. Once the Godmonster escapes from Dr. Clemens' lab, Charles has a Posse find and capture the Godmonster. After the Godmonster is captured, Charles shows it to the locals who become angry when they find out Charles sold their mineral rights to a company from the East. They riot and attack the Godmonster, now in a cage, destroying it. As Barnstable escapes, Charles yells at him that he has beaten Barnstable.
