Liu Jian
Background
Liu Siu-jian is an inspector in the Chinese police. He was the top in all his classes in the academy and received the highest training in martial arts, weapons, and police tactics. Liu Jian has been decorated for bravery in the line of duty six times, been promoted five times and has never lost a case. He has no wife or children.
During the events of Kiss of the Dragon (2001) played by Jet Li
Liu Jian arrives in Paris and makes his way to his safe house, which is Uncle Tai's restaurant. He then heads to a hotel to meet with Richard from the French police. They watch as Mister Big arrives and is met by Jessica and Aja. Liu Jian runs towards Mister Big's room when he sees Aja stabbing Mister Big with a hair pin and he knocks Chinese Bodyguard unconscious. He immobilizes Aja and tries to keep Mister Big alive, but Richard comes into the room and shoots Mister Big and Aja dead with the gun he took from Liu Jian. Liu Jian is then forced to run, but manages to recover the tape from the closed circuit cameras. He fights Richard's Thugs and makes his way out of the hotel and towards a subway where he recovers a cell phone in a locker. He calls Chen and Chen calls him back and the two meet on a boat. After Liu Jian tells Chen that Richard is the drug connection and gives him the tape recording, Chen is shot and killed and Liu Jian is forced to escape. He returns to Uncle Tai's restaurant and Jessica offers to stitch his cut in thanks for him letting her use the restaurant restroom. As Jessica is leaving she is confronted by Lupo and when Liu Jian asks Lupo to stop slapping Jessica, Lupo demands money. After Liu Jian pays Lupo, Lupo hits Jessica again and Liu Jian beats up Lupo and Lupo's Assistant. Max arrives and shoots and kills Uncle Tai who had just arrived back at the restaurant and Liu Jian kills Max by shoving a pair of chopsticks in his throat. Liu Jian and Jessica then leave and after he finds out she was the other prostitute when Mister Big was killed, Liu Jian promises to keep her safe and get her daughter Isabel if she helps him. Jessica steals the tape and gives it back to Liu Jian and they go the orphanage that Isabel is at. While there, they are ambushed by Richard's men and Jessica is shot. After dropping off Jessica at a hospital, Liu Jian goes to the police headquarters and tells Richard he is coming for him and Isabel. Liu Jian then proceeds to beat up all the French cops and kills the Twins. He then enters Richard's office and after Richard shoots him, Liu Jian sticks a needle in the back of Richard's neck. Liu Jian then takes Isabel to Jessica in the hospital and wakes Jessica up.
