Background

Volpe is a Legionary in the command of Quintus Pompey and he is his chief torturer.

During the events of Rome: Season 1 Episode 4 Stealing from Saturn played by Richard Katz

Quintus Pompey and Volpe torture Appius to find out where the Roman gold is. Volpe is ordered to go with Quintus to Rome to find the gold and they bring along a group of Syrians. They tell the Senior Legionary they are corpse collectors in order to be let into the city gates. They then go to the home of Lucius Vorenus and ask him where the gold is. Lucisu tells them he doesn't know, and they are about to cut Niobe, when Titus Pullo arrives at Lucius' home. Titus distracts the Syrians by throwing coins into the air and Lucius and Titus kill the Syrians and Volpe.
