Sol Roth is a Police Book in New York City. He lives with Thorn in an apartment. Sol used to be a professor. His favorite color is orange.


During the events of Soylent Green (1973) played by Edward G. Robinson

Sol turns off the television when Santini is being interviewed. Thorn asks him information about the cases he is working on, but Sol can't provide him with much of anything he can use. As Thorn is eating synthetic food, Sol talks about when food was natural. When the power starts to go out, Sol jumps on a bike attached to a battery and pedals it to make the power return. Thorn later returns with a pillow case full of items he took from Simonson's apartment and shows Sol, including, paper, pencils, a bar of soap, fresh fruit and vegetables. He then gives Sol two volumes of an oceanographic survey. When Thorn returns from work, they eat a meal prepared by Sol from the food Thorn took from Simonson's apartment. Sol then tells him biographical information about Simonson. Before leaving, Thorn gives Sol a spoon full of jam he stole from Tab's apartment. Sol takes the oceanographic surveys to the Supreme Exchange and shows it to The Exchange Leader. The Exchange Leader and Sol discuss their findings from the report, which include the algae in the oceans have disappeared and Soylent Green is made from people. Sol then returns home and leaves a note to Thorn telling him he is going home. He goes to the euthanasia center and walks up to the Desk Attendant and tells him his favorite color and choice of music. Sol is then taken to a room by an Usher 1 where he is stripped by Attendant and another Attendant. Sol is then shown video of green fields and animals as classical music plays. Thorn arrives and they tell each other they love each other and Sol tells Thorn, Soylent Green is made of people and he is euthanized.
